A survey of literature on hydrocarbon and boiling fouling was made. Parametric effects reviewed include particulates, dissolved gases, velocity, surface temperature, fluid chemistry, treatment, and boiling. Test times required to reach asymptotic or near asymptotic fouling were surveyed from plant and laboratory data.
