Abstract:
To augment data gathered in an earlier study, HTRI tested reflux condensation in a tube inclined at 30 degrees to the horizontal. In this report, we propose a revised correlation which includes the effects of the angle of inclination on the critical flooding velocity. Our observations indicate that the critical flooding velocity in a 60-degree inclined tube is higher than that in a vertical tube, whereas the critical flooding velocity in a 30-degree inclined tube is nearly equal to that in a vertical tube.
